Here is a bit about out of body experiences:

Dr Susan Blackmore, psychologist and visiting lecturer at the University of the West of England, said: "This has at last brought OBEs into the lab and tested one of the main theories of how they occur.
"Scientists have long suspected that the clue to these extraordinary, and sometimes life-changing, experiences lies in disrupting our normal illusion of being a self behind our eyes, and replacing it with a new viewpoint from above or behind."

We had a visitor the other night.
I had been lying awake from about 1 am and at 5 am when it was still pitch black the light on the front porch clicked on, as it does often enough, with a passing stray cat. But for some reason I looked out the window and saw a shadow coming in through the gates. I was about to wake S because I thought it might be the sangliers and he has an idea about trapping them in the garden so we can have a good look at them.
Then into the light walked a man. He hesitated at the edge of the property for a few seconds and then seemed to decide to enter. Someone in the garden! And I was going out to find out what he was doing... I dressed quickly and went to the front door and shouted out into the night 'Hello! Who's there? I saw you... I know you are there... '
No one responded, but after a minute or two a small man wandered around from the back of the house saying 'is this garden all fenced in?'
To which I replied 'and who are you?'
He said 'I am trying to get my horse.'
Soon after that Le Caliph, a huge shiny black stallion trotted up to me. The man told me to catch it I did but it pulled away obviously it had other plans. After a few minutes more the rude man said 'Shut the gates and I'll come back in the morning when I can see to catch him'
I told him to catch him there and then but he wandered off and shut the gate. I woke my son to see that we had a nightmare in the garden and then we went back to bed. I lay awake listening to it clip clopping around the patio and munching the lawn outside my window.
In the morning we still had the beautiful big horse in our the garden, and so we became the proud owners of Le Caliph at least for a short while. Unfortunately, the rude man came back for him. His friend who had driven him said 'hello' but he did not. He took our lovely horse without apologising for waking us up in the night or trespassing on our property or thanking us for looking after his horse (we gave him a carrot).
It is a mysterious life.
